Summer season is nearly over, but the weather is still pretty warm and humid. What better way to beat the heat than to refresh yourself with cold creamy ice cream.
The Korean market has introduced a wide variety of these cool dairy products throughout the years. Some had been widely received while the others seemingly faded into oblivion.
Here is a list of the most popular and highly patronized Korean ice cream bars and popsicles.
1. Nougat Bar. It is a vanilla ice cream bar resembling a round nougat coated with a milk chocolate shell. It is one of the oldest Korean ice cream brands introduced in 1974.

2. Jaws Bar. A shark inspired ice pop, with an orange and strawberry flavor. It leaves a red and blue color on the tongue that kids love.

3. Red Bean Ice Bar. Locally known as Bibibig, it is the common favorite among adults. It is based on the traditional cold dessert, Patbingsu and comes with a sweet red bean taste.

4. Babambar. From the Korean word 'Bam' which means chestnut, this popsicle comes with a chestnut flavor and flecked with almond bits. The middle part of the bar is filled with sweetened syrup.

5. Melona. Offers a sweet, creamy honeydew flavor on a stick. However, strawberry and banana flavors are being exported overseas.

6. Seolleim. It is the bestseller among all Korean ice creams. It is basically a milkshake in a pouch which also comes in coffee shake and cookies & cream flavors.

7. Chapssaltteok. This is a well-loved Mochi ice cream by Lotte. It is an ice cream ball made of glutinous rice with a whiff of green tea.

8. Ssang Ssang Bar. Derived from the Korean word 'Ssang' which means a pair or a couple. It is basically an ice pop with two sticks to be shared with a loved one.
