Do you regularly go to the hair salon? How many times a year do you relax your hair? Is it too much to change hair color every season? What is hair texturizer? Ladies, we’ll answer all of your questions regarding the most common ethnic hair treatments.

Hair Relaxing Treatment

This treatment uses a chemical with an active agent, such as ammonium thioglycolate (known as thio) or sodium hydroxide (known as lye) or calcium hydroxide (no-lye relaxer), to straighten your hair. You can use this hair treatment every 6-8 weeks depending on your hair type.

Texturizer

Texturizers loosen the curl patterns of your hair making it more manageable without completely straightening it. It is marketed for young girls whose roots are still delicate for hair relaxers.

Hair Dyeing

Coloring has a lot to do with porosity. Porosity is the ability of the hair to retain moisture. The kinkier the hair, the more porous it will be, thus making it more likely to take color in faster.

These are the most common ethnic hair treatments and I suggest to make sure that you or your salon knows how not to over process it, because you won’t like the results.
