Korea is a pot of surprises and excitement and one of the best things about Korea is their food! These good stuffs are not hard on the wallet, but definitely heavy on the stomach and delightful on the taste buds. Here's a list of food traditions you should not miss!

You don't need a bowl of fancy-schmancy ramen to make this, instant packet ramen will do! Ramen tastes savory and delicious on its own but adding a cheese topping takes it to another level. The cheese melts over the spicy soup, giving it a smooth, creamy texture. The cheese flavor goes so well with the spiciness!

Bingsoo is a refreshing Korean dessert made out of shaved ice as fine as snow. It is usually served with red bean and rice cake toppings. There isn't so much guilt in having this dessert as it isn't that sweet.

Next time you hang out with your friends, try going for Korean Barbecue. It's a fun way of making delicious food. You grill the meat based on how you want it done, wrap it in a piece of lettuce and garnish it with garlic, green chili, sesame oil and Gochujang (chili paste). The cuts of the meat are lean and tender, too!

Banana Milk

Banana milk is the taste of childhood for most Koreans. It's a combination of creamy milk and sweet banana. It's simple, but definitely addictive! Plus, it comes in a cute instagram-worthy bottle.

Pajeon

These savory Korean pancakes are so delicious and chewy thanks to a special type of rice flour that is used to make them. Two of the most famous kinds of Pajeon are Green Onion and Sea Food Pajeon. They're eaten with kimchi on the side and dipped in light soy sauce. A lovely twist to your regular breakfast pancakes.

Kimbap

Although it has a strong resemblance to sushi rolls, Kimbaps are entirely different. They are more like bites of combined rice and viand as its ingredients are cooked (unlike sushi which are mostly made with raw ingredients). Its seasoned too so it has a unique taste of its own.

Be sure to try them out when you go to Seoul or when you take a trip to a Korean restaurant or grocery!

Till next time!
