The Korean culture can't be talked about without mentioning the famous liquor, Soju. It's a popular alcoholic spirit which is primarily made from distilled rice and conventionally described as the Korean's vodka.

Soju is said to be the driving force behind many eventful nights in South Korea. Most occasions and events can't proceed without the consumption of this alcoholic beverage. Some Korean men can't even last a day without a bottle of this drink. Statistics have shown that they drink booze three times more than their American counterpart.

Hailed as the best-selling liquor of 2011, Jinro soju without a doubt satisfied many drinkers' palate. But, do you know that Korea boasts a lot of other differently mixed sojus?

1. Chamisul. 
The number one alcohol brand of 2011, it is being sold mainly in Seoul and exported internationally.

2. Chumchurum (Lotte Liquor).
Softer than other sojus, it is fast becoming the popular choice of women and young drinkers. It has an alcohol content of 19.5%, while its weaker version has 16.8% alcohol.

3. O2Linn.
Using an eco-friendly way of distilling the sojus, O2's name also indicates that it has more oxygen than other products which results to a cleaner taste and a lesser hangover.

4. Ipsaeju.
This soju brand literally translates to "leaf liquor," contains maple syrup, and has an alcohol content of 19.5%.

5. Charm.
Containing 19.3% alcohol content, Charm soju's name is similar to Korean word "cham," which means nice or true.

6. Joeun Day.
Made from the underground water of Mount Jiri, and has a relatively low alcohol content of 16.9%, Joeun Day means "Good day" in English.
