Koreans pride themselves on their unique, nutritious, and complex cuisine. Known for their numerous side dishes and complicated recipes, they prepare their food with utmost diligence and patience.

However, no matter how many times you dine at different Korean restaurants, you won't be able to experience their complete and distinctive flavor without trying their highly notable street foods. In fact, in almost every corner of Seoul you can dig a good treat.

Next time you visit Seoul, make sure to try the following street bites for an authentic Korean taste.

1. Odeng. This fish rice skewer served with broth is one of the most popular snacks for students. Usually a flat or rolled cake with herbs and a salty flavor.

2. Dakkochi. Simple grilled chicken and vegetables on a stick. Different sauces are available to go with it and to suit your taste.

5. Tteokbokki. For a sweet, spicy and simply Korean tang go for this sliced rice cake. It costs around 2,500-4000 Won per plate.

6. Ho-tteok. During winter season this pancake is to-die for. It contains a cinnamon-flavored filling with honey and chopped peanuts.
