It's almost summer! The extreme sunlight and intense heat of the season can greatly affect your skin's moisture levels.

Water is just as important to the skin's health as it is for the rest of the body. When your skin is dehydrated, it will feel dry, flaky, saggy and appear dull and lifeless hence making you look older than you actually are. With these proper tips, you can prevent skin horrors from happening.

1. Do Not Overcleanse or Overscrub
You can wash or exfoliate but not too much as it can strip off your skin's natural oils and throw off its natural balance of moisture. Stick to a deep cleansing yet gentle or all natural-based soaps and cleansers.

2. Moisturize All Over
To quench your skin's thirst, use a good oil-free moisturizer for the face and a deep-moisturizing lotion for the body. Look for products that have shea or cocoa butter or jojoba oil and vitamin c to boost the production of collagen for a plump and healthier looking skin.

3. Drink Water
It sounds like a no-brainer but I just cannot stress this very important tip enough! Water acts like a moisturizing fuel to the body. Drink at least 7-8 glasses of water everyday.

4. Eat Well
The best way to keep your skin healthy is by having a balanced diet. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol excessively. Nourish your body from within and the outside will show its positive effects.

5. Sun Protection
Finally, avoid extreme exposure to sunlight. Protect your skin against harmful environmental factors by applying sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you leave the house.
